Cupping Collective introduces a shared global calibration process designed to align coffee professionals before purchasing decisions are made.
A shared reference point for a global industry
Each month, participating labs will receive a blind-labelled sample set of roasted coffees, sourced early in the season.
Blind labelling reduces:
- Commercial bias
- Origin preconceptions
- Over-reliance on existing supplier relationships
- Reputation-driven scoring
… promoting objectivity along the supply chain.
Every coffee is evaluated the same way - using a structured scoring framework, with intensity mapping and descriptive profiling.
Each participating lab supports up to 5 users, allowing teams to calibrate internally as well as against the wider network.
All cupping data is captured within the platform, and compared against local, regional and global results.
Why this matters?
Coffee value is often identified too late.
Origin labs rarely have exposure to how coffees are perceived globally, outside of their lab. Buyers often work within isolated and controlled calibration environments.
This leads to gaps throughout the supply chain:

Cupping Collective is a long-term project, developed with the benefit of 20 years' experience in sourcing, calibration, logistics, quality development and origin relationships.
Founder Will Corby has worked in specialty coffee for more than two decades: sourcing, sampling, importing, roasting and marketing coffees from producing countries around the world.
